Shared Looks

A shared look is a card that shows one of your items and up to five outfits you make with it. You get a link to the card that anyone can open, without an account.

Who Can Use It

PlanShared looks
Free pass1 in total
Trial or paidUp to 20 a day

On the free pass you can make 1 shared look in total. Stopping a shared look doesn’t give it back, and neither does a card that couldn’t be made, so once you reach the limit you can’t make another until you start your trial. Seeing and stopping your shared looks works on every plan, including after a subscription ends.

Shared looks are a Wardrowbe Cloud feature. The self-hosted open-source edition is a separate project and doesn’t include them.

Sharing an Item

  1. Open an item that has finished tagging and isn’t archived.
  2. Press the share button, “Share outfits with this item”, in its item details.
  3. Wait while the card is made. This can take up to a minute; you can close the dialog and find the card in Outfits under “Shared”.
  4. When you see “Your look is ready to share”, press “Copy link” or “Share”. On the web you can also press “Download image” to save the card as a picture.

The card uses outfits with this item that you’ve saved or worn. If there aren’t any yet, you see “No outfits to share yet” with a “Find matching outfits” button.

Opening the share dialog again for the same item and the same outfits gives you the same link and doesn’t count as another share.

What Is Public

The card shows:

  • the photos of the item and of the other pieces in each outfit,
  • the type of each piece, such as shirt or jeans, and its colours,
  • a headline about the item, and the Wardrowbe name.

A shared look never shows your name, email or account, your item names, notes or brands, or anything else you typed. The rest of your wardrobe stays private.

Before the card goes public it passes an image moderation check. If one of its photos doesn’t pass, nothing is published and you see “This look can’t be shared”.

Shared look pages ask search engines not to list them, so people find a card through its link.

When you paste the link into a chat or a social app, the preview shows the card with its headline as the title. Some apps keep their own copy of a preview, so a preview someone has already seen can stay in that app after you stop sharing.

Managing Your Shared Looks

Your shared looks are on the Outfits page under the “Shared” filter chip, next to “Worn”. The chip shows in the list view only, so switch out of the calendar to see it. Each card shows its status and, while it is live, how many views it has had; press “Copy link” on a live card, or open any card to manage it.

StatusWhat it means
MakingThe card is still being made. This usually takes a minute; “Taking longer than usual” means it is still going.
LiveAnyone with the link can see it.
HiddenPeople reported it and the check found a problem, so the link no longer shows it.
Not sharedThe card couldn’t be made, or one of its photos didn’t pass our photo check. It was never public; open it and press “Remove” to clear it from the list.

If your subscription has ended, your live shared looks are listed on the Billing page instead, so you can still stop them.

Stopping a Share

Open the card under “Shared”, press “Stop sharing” and confirm. The link stops working for everyone who has it, and the card images are deleted. Anyone who opens the link afterwards sees “This look isn’t shared anymore”. Images may stay in browser and network caches for a few minutes.

A shared look also stops on its own when:

  • you delete the item or any outfit on the card,
  • you close your account.

Archiving the item doesn’t stop a share that already exists, and a shared look has no expiry date.

Reporting a Shared Look

Anyone who opens a shared look can press “Report” on its page. Each visitor counts once per card. Once a card has three reports, moderation checks it again, and the card is hidden only if that check finds a problem; reports alone don’t take a card down. A hidden card stays under “Shared” as “Hidden” until you stop sharing it.

Mobile: Share an item from the share button on its item screen. When the card is ready, the sheet shows the link and a “Share” button. Your shared looks are on the Outfits tab under the “Shared” chip, with the same statuses; open one to stop sharing it. If your subscription has ended, the subscription screen has a “Shared looks” link instead.
