Gap Report
The gap report counts the outfits your wardrobe can make for each occasion you dress for and tells you what to add next. It is the “Wardrobe gaps” card on the analytics page.
Who Can Use It
The gap report is included in the free pass, the free trial and a paid subscription. It is a Wardrowbe Cloud feature; the self-hosted open-source edition is a separate project and doesn’t include it.
How Outfits Are Counted
An outfit is a top with a bottom, or a dress or jumpsuit, plus shoes. Only pieces that fit the occasion’s dress code count, whatever the season. Layers and accessories don’t make an outfit on their own, so they are left out of the count.
The count uses only your items that have finished tagging and aren’t archived. While items are still being tagged, the card says so and the counts update when tagging finishes. Nothing in the report is asked of an AI model: it is counted from your items’ types and formality.
Occasions
The report counts the occasions you picked under “Occasions you dress for” in your style preferences, each with the number of days a week you dress for it. With none picked, it uses your default occasion, 5 days a week, and offers “Choose occasions” so you can set your own. Once you have picked some, “Edit occasions” takes you back to them.
Each occasion shows how many outfits fit its dress code, the dress code itself, and a status:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Missing | No outfit fits this occasion yet. |
| Running thin | You have outfits, but fewer than two for each day a week you chose, or too few shoes, bottoms or tops to vary them over the week. |
| Covered | You have enough outfits for the days you dress for it. |
When an occasion needs something, the card names the piece that would add the most outfits, for example “Next for Office: shoes”. When every occasion is covered, the card says “Every occasion you dress for has enough outfits.”
Missing From Your Wardrobe
Below the occasions, “Missing from your wardrobe” lists up to five gaps:
- common types of clothing you don’t own, or own only one of,
- favourite colours from your style preferences that fewer than two of your items have.
Dresses and skirts are only listed if you shop womenswear or already own one. If you own something on the list but haven’t added it yet, “Already own one? Add it” takes you to your wardrobe.
If you can use Scan, the card also links to “Scan before you buy”, so you can check a piece against your wardrobe before you buy it.
On the Wardrobe Page
When an occasion needs something, the wardrobe page shows a short card with the next piece to add and a “See all” link to the full report.
Mobile: The same report is on the analytics screen, which you open from the Settings tab, and the wardrobe tab shows the short card when an occasion needs something.
