06 · Let go · Wardrobe review

A closet cleanout app that shows you what you never wear.

Wardrowbe's wardrobe review takes you through your clothes one at a time, least worn first, showing when you added each piece and when you last wore it. Answer Keep, Not sure or Let go. Anything you let go is archived with your reason, never deleted, so you can restore it later.

The wardrobe review is on the free pass, with no card, and in the 14-day trial and Cloud plans.

How it works

One piece at a time, least worn first

The review only shows pieces that have finished tagging and that you haven't decided on yet.

  1. Step 01

    Open the review

Press Review wardrobe on the wardrobe page, or from the Never Worn card in analytics. The pieces you wear least come first.

  2. Step 02

    Decide each piece

Each card shows when you added the piece and when you last wore it, or Never worn. Answer Keep, Not sure or Let go.

  3. Step 03

    Say why, or skip

Letting go asks why: Donated, Sold, Doesn't fit, Worn out or Other. Every answer has an Undo, and Undo on Let go restores the piece.

What each answer does

Let go means archived, not deleted

Nothing in the review deletes anything. Here is what each answer does, and what happens to a piece you let go.

Keep
The piece stays and doesn't come back to the review.
Not sure
The piece stays and comes back to the review after 90 days.
Let go
The piece moves to your archive, with the reason you gave kept beside it.
Archived
Read-only until you restore it, and left out of suggestions, analytics totals and the gap report.
Restore
Puts the piece back in your wardrobe as it was before you let it go.
All caught up
A count of what you kept, weren't sure about and let go in that session.

Questions

Asked about clearing out a closet

Does letting go delete my clothes?

No. Let go archives the piece, with the reason you gave. An archived piece is read-only until you restore it, and restoring brings it back as it was. You can still delete it from the archive if you want it gone.

Which clothes does the review show first?

The ones you wear least: fewest wears first, then pieces never worn or worn longest ago, then the oldest additions. Pieces still being tagged, or whose tagging failed, aren't shown.

What does Not sure do?

The piece stays in your wardrobe and comes back to the review after 90 days, so you can decide once you have had the chance to wear it.

I pressed Let go by mistake. Can I undo it?

Yes. Every answer shows an Undo, and Undo on Let go restores the piece from the archive. Later, open the piece in your archived items and press Restore.

Is the closet cleanout free?

Yes. The wardrobe review is on the free pass, with no card, as well as the 14-day trial and Cloud plans. Letting a piece go doesn't give back one of the free pass's 15 items.

Do archived clothes still show up in outfits?

No. An archived piece is never used in outfit suggestions and isn't counted in your analytics totals or the gap report. Its past wears stay in its history.

Can I clean out my closet on the self-hosted edition?

The self-hosted open source edition can archive and restore items one at a time. The wardrobe review, with its Keep, Not sure and Let go answers, is a Wardrowbe Cloud feature.
